Multiple People Shot at Howe Park – Unsanctioned Gathering Ends in Shooting





On the evening of Saturday April 18, an unauthorized gathering of a large crowd at Howe Community Park in the Arden-Arcade section of Sacramento turned violent when 20 to 25 gunshots echoed through the area as Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputies were actively breaking up the gathering.

How Events Unfolded

At around 6:30 PM on April 18, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department received calls involving persons reportedly carrying concealed firearms at Howe Community Park in Sacramento. A follow-up call reported a potential fight and people running from the area.

Aerial units was deployed and scanned the park but was unable to locate any ongoing altercation.

At the same time, hundreds of individuals had collected at the park for what authorities described as an unauthorized event. Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies surrounded the park, switched on their vehicle lights, and dedicated around 15 minutes commanding the crowd to clear out over loudspeakers.

As officers worked to clear the park, between 20 and 25 shots rang out — triggering a panicked crowd in every direction.

Victims of the Shooting

Four individuals — a female and three male victims, ranging in age Howe Park Sacramento gunfire through their 20s — were transported to area hospitals.
